Society has changed but the healthcare system hasn’t. The evidence is undeniable – long wait times, rising out-of-pocket costs, inefficient systems, out-of-date attitudes, issues of access, the list goes on. Clearly, the system is failing us, so we’ve decided to fix it.

About Eucalyptus (or ‘Euc’)
Eucalyptus is a collective of digital healthcare clinics (Juniper, Pilot, Kin, Software, and Compound) solving the world’s biggest healthcare challenges from obesity to fertility and longevity.
In just 4 years, we’ve already…
• 🚀 Launched 5 demographically tailored clinics and facilitated over 1 million medical consultations worldwide.
• 🌍 Built a team of over 400 Eucalypts in 5 countries (🇦🇺🇬🇧🇩🇪🇯🇵🇵🇭) consisting of medical practitioners, engineers, operators and many more functions!
• 💰 Raised over $160M funding from the same investors who backed Canva, Uber, and AirBnB.
… and we’re just getting started! Read more about our mission to change healthcare here.
🇯🇵 About... Eucalyptus Japan
We have officially gone live just over 3 months ago, and since then have engaged with over 300 patients, and built a dedicated team of ~15 bi-lingual Japanese and English speakers focussed on helping Japan to succeed. We are partnered with a medical entity who has ~5 clinics spanning across both Tokyo and Osaka, as well as a pharmacy chain with over ~400 branches across all of Japan. With rising healthcare costs in Japan, and a prevalence of lifestyle issues such as type 2 diabetes and hypertension, we are on a mission to help Japanese patients live longer, healthier lives.
Working @ Euc
Life is short, so we’ll be frank - fixing healthcare is hard. Like, really hard. That’s why we work smart, AND hard.
If you’re brave enough to….
• 💬 open yourself to lots (and we mean LOTS) of feedback,
• 🏃 sprint - not walk, towards your professional and personal growth,
• 🥰 deeply care about our patients, and those you work with,
… here’s what we can promise in return…
• You’ll be supported to accelerate your career - Regular feedback (sometimes daily 😅) alongside our bi-annual performance reviews, a professional development budget, and the mentorship and buddies to ensure you have the support you need to level up. We’re committed to helping every Eucalypt reach their full potential.
• You’ll work with others who are incredibly passionate about what they do - Our talent bar is high and our work ethic is strong. You’ll get to stretch yourself everyday, be given autonomy to tackle interesting problems, and work amongst people who care deeply about our patients.
• You’ll make impact faster than you ever could have imagined - We build in the open together, which helps us learn and iterate more quickly so we can deliver high quality outcomes faster than anyone else.
Want to hear more about what it’s like to work at Eucalyptus? Hear from our team here.
About the role (What you'll be doing)
Honestly, as an Operations Manager, the scope is limitless and as such while we’ll aim to give you an idea of what to expect, there isn’t going to be an exhaustive list of roles and responsibilities as your contributions will vary from week to week depending on whatever the highest priorities are.
As the team is small and we are expecting to scale quickly, you will be expected to take on responsibilities that do not necessarily fit within the scope of what you would normally expect - and in return, you can expect enormous career acceleration and to build the muscle around what it takes to grow a business from 0 to 1. Our previous Operations Managers have gone on to become Country Managers and Functional Leaders so we see this as a great springboard to pivot into new capabilities that you would like to build your career around.
You will be reporting into the Head of International Expansion and be based in either Tokyo or Osaka, and would be comfortable commuting between both locations 1-2 times per month.
You could be responsible for
• Conducting outreach to prospective patients to answer questions and educate them on our offering
• Producing insights to evolve and localise our offering towards product market fit for Japan
• Coordinating operational workforce and supply chain to deliver our patient experience
• Identifying, sourcing, onboarding and building relationships with prospective vendors
• Identifying, estimating and proposing new initiatives to help the business increase patients and profitability
• Leading a team to scale your impact across the initiatives listed above
About you (Who are we looking for)
At Eucalyptus, we bring together the best of the best in the healthcare sector, tech industry, and every discipline in between. What unites us all is a deep desire to make a difference using our skills, and at Eucalyptus we get to do this everyday.

• Tech-savvy: You have a working knowledge of Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides), Slack, Notion, and/or similar productivity and project management tools/apps. You are comfortable with various commonplace technologies and are able to adapt to new systems quickly.
• Strong communicator: You are a native or equivalent Japanese speaker, and can communicate at least professionally in English. You are an active listener and are able to interact with stakeholders in a concise and effective manner in both verbal and written formats.
• Quantitative: Numbers are your best friend, and you wouldn't expect to get a business case over the line without them. You are comfortable at producing and presenting analysis quickly, and have a working knowledge of Excel, SQL or other analytical methods.
Behaviours & Attitudes
• Detail-oriented: You are organised and take pride in the quality of your work. You can manage complex processes, and ensure a high degree of accuracy in your outputs.
• Exceptional problem-solver: You are not fazed by complex problems and are able to offer creative solutions. You think critically and troubleshoot effectively, whether it's resolving technical or operational issues.
• Trustworthy: You embody trust and dependability. You know how to treat sensitive information with confidentiality on a daily basis.
• Proactive: You have a charismatic ‘can do’ attitude. You require minimal supervision and take ownership in your work. You are motivated by impact and driven by wanting to help others. You go the extra mile to take on new challenges and opportunities to propel your professional development.
• Learner’s Mindset: You foster a strong desire to learn and develop. You can easily adapt in a fast paced environment and consider every new experience as an opportunity to learn. You strive for excellence and constantly improve your abilities.
Other
• You are based in either Tokyo or Osaka, or willing to relocate
• You are flexible with your working hours and would be open to working on the weekend as and when required by patients Show more details...
